Knights capture CSCAA Scholar All-America team honors again; three divers add individual accolades

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Both the Carleton College men's and women's swimming & diving programs were selected as Scholar All-America squads by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their work in the classroom. This marks the 29th consecutive time that both Carleton programs earned the honor.

The Scholar All-America Team Award is presented biannually, once for the fall term and again for the winter term/spring semester. According to CSCAA.org, the Carleton men's and women's teams are the only MIAC squads—of either gender—to take home recognition each time since Winter/Spring 2011.

For an entire swimming & diving program to earn this academic award, squads must have had a combined team grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale during the designated time period.

During the winter 2025 term, the Carleton women's team recorded a combined 3.75 GPA, while the men posted a 3.52 GPA as a group over the same time.

A total of 140 Division III schools saw both their men's and women's programs capture the Scholar All-America Team Award for winter/spring 2025. Of that group, Carleton was 1 of only 19 to post cumulative GPAs of at least 3.50 with more than 25 participants on both its rosters.

Additionally, three Carleton divers earned individual accolades. Hans Anderson '27 and Nina Schwab '28 were tabbed as First Team Scholar All-Americans after they earned GPAs of 3.5 or higher and participated at the 2025 NCAA Championships. At Nationals, Anderson placed 12th on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, while Schwab finished third on the 1-meter board and fourth at the 3-meter height.

Hailey Westrup '27 was a Second Team Scholar All-American as she also had a 3.5 GPA or higher and qualified for the NCAA Division III Region 1 Diving Championships, where she placed ninth for the 1-meter height and 11th on the 3-meter board.

Carleton swimmers and divers have earned individual Scholar All-America recognition 39 times since 2009.
