NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College swimming & diving teams opened the regular season by hosting the Cows, Colleges, and Contentment Classic. Divers
Nina Schwab and
Hans Anderson led the way, as each recorded their first qualifying marks towards participation at the NCAA Regional competitions.
Schwab established new Thorpe Pool records with her 11-dive scores on both the 1-meter (464.85) and 3-meter (490.85) boards. Anderson scored 467.00 points on the 1-meter board and 447.7 for the 3-meter height.
The swimming portion of the meet was held at Northfield Middle School. Unfortunately, the timing system at NMS was not working properly, so race times were clocked on stopwatches, meaning that they are not eligible for submission to the NCAA.
On the women's side, newcomer
Julia Michalski was the unofficial winner in three individual events as well as aiding a pair of victorious relays. For the men's team,
Nicolas Chang was first to the wall in botht the 200 butterfly and 400-yard IM.
