NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College women's track & field team won nine events at the Carleton Relays and turned in a total of five top-10 performances in program history.
 
The meet was split to two days due to weather.
 
"Our team certainly took advantage of the opportunity today," said Carleton head coach Donna Ricks. "They did an outstanding job navigating the schedule change. They showed up ready to compete, as a result the team achieved personal bests in 12 different events on the track and in the field."
 
On Thursday, Ava Brosam bested her previous collegiate best three times and won the pole vault competition after clearing 3.36 meters to rank second in team annals. Caroline Kelleher prevailed in the high jump with a height of 1.46 meters.
 
Sunday's action began with the 4x100-meter relay as the Knights' quartet of Alice Islam, Jillian Muglia, Biance Lott, and Terri Mensah posted a time of 51.65. Lauren Tittel then won the 1500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:37.69, which ranks ninth in team history. Sophie Syverson won the next event, prevailing in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.77.
 
Lott was first across the line in the 100-meter dash, posting a personal-best time of 12.95. Islam added a victory in the 200-meter dash, establishing a new PR with her time of 27.30. Amelia Campbell took first in her debut of the 3000-meter steeplechase, winning by nearly 22 seconds as she finished at 11:24.49, good for 10th place in the program record book.
 
Mensah moved into eighth in program history after measuring a personal-best 5.24 meters as the runner up in the long jump. Willa Bishop took over seventh place on the team's top-10 list after measuring 37.10 meters in the discus. She bested her previous mark by a whopping 14 feet and finished second behind a NCAA Division I student-athlete.
 
The Knights capped the meet by winning the 4x400-meter relay. Lott, Charlotte Kusch, Claire Vukovics, and Tittel combined on a time of 4:19.84.
 
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton is currently scheduled to compete at the University of Minnesota's Gary Wilson Invitational on Wed., April 22. However, high temperatures that day are forecast to be in the mid 80s and may force the Knights to reconsider that plan.
