LEXINGTON, KY – For the 18th consecutive year, the Carleton College volleyball program received the American Volleyball Coaches' Association's (AVCA) Team Academic Award for excellence in the classroom. The Knights posted a 3.68 cumulative team GPA during the 2024-25 academic year, earning Carleton the further distinction of being on the AVCA Team Academic Award Honor Roll, which represents the top 20 percent of team GPAs in each division.
Carleton's streak of 18 straight AVCA academic honors is tied for the seventh-longest active streak in NCAA Division III and the 18th longest across all three divisions of NCAA volleyball (see charts below).
Dating back to the 2001-02 academic year, Carleton has taken home the AVCA Team Academic Award 22 times overall, the third-highest total over that span among the 1,039 NCAA Division I, II, and III volleyball programs.
The Team Academic Award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors college and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year. Nominating head coaches must be AVCA members.
Nine members of the Knights' roster previously landed on the Academic All-MIAC team, while
Ella Curtis-Revelle '26,
Sylvia Dixon '26,
Jennifer Bricker '27, and
Megan Smith '27 earned Academic All-District recognition.
