NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton volleyball team concluded its 2025 season on Senior Night Saturday evening at West Gym. The Knights fell to Saint Benedict in three sets to finish the season 4-21 (2-9 MIAC).
Carleton opened the match strong, scoring the first four points of the opening set thanks to a pair of kills from senior
Sylvia Dixon and a pair of aces from sophomore
Ellewyn Swafford. The score was tied 16-16 when the Bennies rattled off five of the next six points to take a 21-17 lead. The spurt proved to be the difference as the visitors took four of the final five points of the set to win the lid lifter 25-21 and take a 1-0 edge in the match.
Saint Benedict picked up where it left off in the second set, jumping out to an early 5-1 lead, but the Knights stormed back to tie things up 7-7, highlighted by a pair of kills from junior
Jennifer Bricker. The Bennies held a narrow 15-14 advantage midway through the set before they rattled off five straight points to take a 20-14 lead and all but put the frame away, going on to take it 25-19 and stretch the match lead to 2-0.
The third set was once again tied 7-7 before the Bennies used a 5-1 run to take a 12-8 lead. That advantage grew to eight points (20-12). An ace from senior
Isabel Macia cut the deficit to five (23-18), but it was as close as the Knights would come in the final frame, as the Bennies went on to take it 25-19 and stamp the match final in straight sets.
Dixon led the way for the Knights in her final match wearing the Maize and Blue. She collected 12 kills and eight digs on the night. Junior
Kate Wiczynski followed with eight kills. Junior setter
Megan Smith put up 19 assists and senior
Isabel Macia added 10 assists with six digs and an ace in her final match at West Gym. First-year
Angelina Erhardt racked up 15 digs, while senior
Ella Curtis-Revelle posted 11 digs and fellow senior

As is tradition at Carleton, the final home match of the season is designated as Senior Night where each program has an opportunity to honor its senior class. Seniors
