LEXINGTON, KY – The Carleton College volleyball program secured the American Volleyball Coaches' Association's (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 19th consecutive year. The Knights posted a 3.66 cumulative team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year.
Carleton's streak of 19 straight AVCA academic honors is tied for the seventh-longest active streak in NCAA Division III and the 18th longest across all three divisions of NCAA volleyball.
Dating back to the 2001-02 academic year, Carleton has taken home the AVCA Team Academic Award 24 times overall, tied for the second -highest total over that span among the 1,039 NCAA Division I, II, and III volleyball programs (see chart below).
The Team Academic Award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors college and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year. Nominating head coaches must be AVCA members.
