Box Score WINONA, Minn. – The No. 39-ranked Carleton College women's tennis team opened the indoor portion of its schedule with a convincing 9-0 victory at Saint Mary's University.
The Knights improved to 4-0 on the season and in conference action. In the process, Carleton has yet to drop a set during singles play.
Piper Brown and
Kathryn Burton got the Knights started with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles. Soon after, rookies
Katerina Smiricinschi and
Ryann Witter notched an 8-3 triumph at the second slot.
Mariam Nechiporuk and
Ingrid Smith completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 decision atop the lineup.
Amelia Asfaw prevailed at No. 1 singles by a 6-1, 6-4 tally, with
Mary Hose cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 result at the second spot.
Nechiporuk was the most dominant player in singles, besting her opponent at the third slot by a 6-1, 6-0 score.
Miriam Shteyman and
Kiley Pickens both won by 6-1, 6-1 scores at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Zoe Rose added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the sixth slot.
