TEMPE, Ariz. – For the second consecutive year every member of the Carleton College women's tennis program was recognized for excellence in the classroom as each was named a Scholar-Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Not surprisingly, the Knights collected their 25th consecutive team academic award from the ITA.
Given to ITA member programs with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or higher, the All-Academic Team award recognizes outstanding academic achievement during the 2025-26 season.
Only one other MIAC women's program owns an active team award streak of more than three years.
The nine Knights who earned individual accolades owned at least a 3.50 GPA for the recently completed academic year. This is the seventh consecutive year with at least seven individual honorees for Carleton.
This year's group of individual winners are:

Ryann Witter '27,
Kat Smiricinschi '27,
Clara Mast '28,
Gabriela Cilella '29,
Algara Dineva '29,
Peggy Fu '29,
Giana Marks '29, and
Varinn Sood '29.
Pickens and Witter garnered Scholar-Athlete honors for the third straight year, while Smiricinschi and Mast both took home their second awards. The other five received their first career academic awards from the ITA.
With the Carleton men also garnering the ITA's All-Academic Team Award, this marked the 15th straight year and the 23rd time over the last 25 seasons that both Knight tennis programs captured the ITA All-Academic Team Award.
The Carleton women's tennis program not only succeeded in the classroom but also excelled on the court during the 2025-26 campaign. The Knights were 14-6, advanced to the finals of the MIAC Playoffs, and finished the season ranked No. 38 in the nation by the ITA.
