MINNEAPOLIS — The Carleton College men's swimming & diving team opened competition at the MIAC Championships with a pair of all-conference swims in relay events. The Knights sit in fourth place after Day 1.
The meet began with the 200-yard medley relay, and the quartet of
Ethan Tun (Fy./Potomac, Md./Landon),
Kevin Chen (Jr./Normal, Ill./Normal Community),
Adam Nik (Sr./Mankato, Minn./Eden Prairie), and
Josh Wu (So./Germantown, Wis./Germantown) posted a time of 1:34.59 to edge St. Olaf for third place. The Knights cut a combined 3.4 seconds off the team's season-best mark.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Wu, Tun,
Sam Glaubitz (So./Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca), and
Ian Scott (So./Seattle, Wash./Garfield) took more than 13 seconds of Carleton's seed time as they combined to cover the distance in 6:57.75. That was good for another third-place result.
