Minneapolis – Aaron Troyansky tossed a three-hitter to win his collegiate debut in game two and Doug Sylvester ripped a two-run double in the opener and pitched two scoreless innings of relief as Carleton College opened the 2007 season by sweeping Dordt College (Iowa), 5-2 and 3-1, at the Metrodome.

In the opener, Carleton scored all five runs in the third inning, highlighted by Sylvester's bases-loaded, ground-rule double to center. Starter Ethan Guevin (1-0) last five innings, fanning six before giving way to Sylvester, as the hard-throwing lefty notched the save.

Eric Greenlee was 2-for-2 with a stolen base, RBI and run scored.

Carleton won game two behind Troyansky's complete-game effort, as the rookie allowed only one run on three hits, while striking out four.

The Knights pounded out eight hits, and scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. In the fifth, Greenlee drove home Mat Tinley with an RBI single, only to have the Defenders tie the game in the bottom half of the inning. In the sixth Andy Krominga plated Sylvester with a single and the Knights scored an insurance run in the seventh when Russ Fujisawa tripled and scored on Guevin's single.

Greenlee added another 2-for-2 performance with a RBI and stolen base. Fujisawa was 2-for-3 with the triple, a walk, stolen base and run scored.

Carleton is back in action during its spring break trip on Friday, March 16 with a doubleheader against Swarthmore College, starting a stretch of nine games over five days.
