NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Four members of the Carleton College baseball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team for 2026. Seniors Ryan Chang and Sam Gossard were repeat honorees, while senior Andrew Sellers and sophomore Tyler Vandersall took home their first CSC academic awards.
 
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of the contests (or pitch at least 17 times or 35.0 innings), and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
 
Chang, an economics and statistics double major, played in 35 games as he split time at first base, designated hitter, and pitcher. He received All-MIAC Honorable Mention. He batted .325 on the season as his 37 hits were second most on the roster. Chang collected six doubles, two triples, a home run, and 16 RBI on the year. He hit safely in 27 of 34 games with an at bat, including 20 of 21 games from March 23-April 29. Chang also made five pitching appearances, going 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA over 10.0 innings of work.
 
Gossard, a psychology major, was voted to the All-MIAC First Team for the second time in his career. An injury in the season opener limited him to only 26 games, but the Knights' leftfielder still batted .307 with four doubles, two triples, a team-high three home runs and a .500 slugging percentage. He returned a month after being injured and hit safely in 12 of his next 15 games. Gossard batted .354 in conference games with a team-best 1.011 OPS in those 20 contests.
 
Sellers, a biology major, played in 29 games, including 28 starts at shortstop. One of the top bunters in the MIAC, he ranked second in the conference with seven sacrifices during the season. He hit .195 on the year but closed the season with a hot bat, hitting .455 during May.
 
Vandersall, an economics major, was the Knights' primary catcher and played in 33 games, including 31 starts. He batted .243 and tied for second on the roster with two home runs and his 20 RBI were fourth on the squad.
