Caroline Kelleher finishes 11th at MIAC Heptathlon

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Carleton College sophomore Caroline Kelleher concluded her first MIAC Heptathlon 11th out of 18 entrants. She posted new personal bests in all three events on Day 2.

Kelleher totaled 3,854 points over the seven events. She started Friday with a new PR of 4.72 meters on her final attempt of the long jump. She then measured 21.66 meters in the javelin, good for a personal best by 6.5 feet. She wrapped up the two-day competition with a personal best 2:27.71 in the 800-meter run.

All told, Kelleher established PRs in six of the seven events.

"I am so proud of Caroline," said Carleton head coach Donna Ricks. "She achieved six personal bests, an impressive achievement. The majority of these events are new for Caroline. The heptathlon is a four-year adventure, and I am excited to see what she will accomplish down the road."
