NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The final day of competition at the MIAC Decathlon saw Carleton College junior Soren Kaster maintain his hold on third place while teammate Reese Anderson surged all the way from 13th to fifth place on Friday.
 
Kaster totaled 6,351 points and earned All-MIAC status for the first time. He received All-Conference honorable mention in both 2024 and 2025.
 
Kaster began Day 2 with a new PR in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 15.61. He measured 31.47 meters on his final try in the discus. He tied Anderson atop the leaderboard in the pole vault, clearing 4.22 meters. Kaster was second to his teammate in the javelin throw, measuring 46.65 meters. He finished fourth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:48.55.
 
Anderson persevered after not getting a legal mark in Thursday's second event, the long jump. Instead of retiring after that, he still managed to collect 5,684 points overall and receive All-Honorable Mention for the second consecutive year.
 
Anderson started Friday by recording a PR of 16.69 in the 110-meter hurdles. He was second in the discus, measuring a personal-best 37.00 meters on his initial attempt. He had the top three distances in of the day in the javelin throw, and on his final attempt at his home track, Anderson uncorked a personal-best toss of 55.18 meters. That distance ranks No. 2 in the MIAC this season and No. 5 in program history. Anderson concluded the decathlon by taking seventh in the 1500-meter run, crossing the finish line at 4:56.54.
