Sam Higaki took home medalist honors as the Carleton College men's golf team wrapped up the regular season, finishing second of four teams at the Gustie Triangular.
No. 19 Gustavus Adolphus College, the tournament host, won the team title with a 36-hole score of 593. The Knights, No. 39 in the Scoreboard by Clippd rankings, compiled a team score of 595, earning a second-place finish. Saint John's University finished in third with a team score of 604, followed by the Gustavus "B team" at 606.
Sam Higaki had the two best rounds of the tournament by any golfer in the field. His rounds of 70 (-1) and 69 (-2) were the only rounds under par on either day. Higaki finished with eight birdies and shot even on the par 3s, on his way to winning the invite by five strokes.
Playing in his final competition as a Knight, senior
Gordon Walker, who earned All-America Honorable Mention last season, finished in a tie for third place. He carded rounds of 71 (E) and 75 (+4).
Oscar Peche started the day with a round 73 (+2) and carded a 78 (+7) over the final 18 holes. He finished the day tied for 10th place.
Dillon Croco rounded out the scoring lineup for the Knights with scores of 78 (+7) and 81 (+10).
