NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College men's track & field team won eight events overall at the Carleton Relays. The meet was split into two days due to weather.
On Thursday,
Jackson Reade won the high jump by clearing an outdoor personal-best 1.83 meters.
James Gates soared 4.47 meters—ranking No. 4 in Carleton outdoor track & field history—to lead a 1-2-3-4 finish for the Knights in the pole vault.
Reece Anderson was second in the event, with his new PR of 4.32 meters tying for No 9 in team annals.
Sunday started with
Roy Llewellyn winning the 10,000-meter run with a new PR of 31:55.81. The Knights took first in the 4x100-meter relay as
Isaac Robertston,
James Alexander,
Reed White, and
Asher Nathan combined on a season-best time of 44.08.
Alexander later took first in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line at 52.03, and Nathan won the 200-meter dash at 22.34. Roberston, Alexander, White, and Nathan capped the track portion of the meet as they prevailed in the 4x400-meter relay with a season-best time of 3:27.93.
Dash Schwab had the top mark in the javelin throw, notching his first collegiate victory after measuring 50.43 meters to smash his previous PR by more than 15 feet.
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton is currently scheduled to compete at the University of Minnesota's Gary Wilson Invitational on Wed., April 22. However, high temperatures that day are forecast to be in the mid 80s and may force the Knights to reconsider that plan.
