REDLANDS, Calif. – The Carleton College men's track & field team opened the outdoor season with a small contingent competing at the Redlands Invitational.
Student-athletes had to contend with record-high temperatures of 102 degrees at the start of the meet, more than 30 degrees above the Southern California average for this time of year.
Rookie
Reed White was the first Knight to hit the outdoor track, clocking a time of 17.61 in the 110-meter hurdles.
Three Knights raced in the 100-meter dash.
Asher Nathan won his heat with a personal-best time of 11.12, while first-year
Isaac Robertson finished in 11.36 and White crossed the line at 11.46.
Emerson Lange raced the 800-meter distance, covering the distance in an outdoor collegiate-best time of 2:00.75.
Nathan registered a personal-best time of 22.11 in the 200-meter dash. Robertson finished at 23.07.
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton will have competitors at two meets on Saturday, March 21: the Johnny Mathis Invitational hosted by San Francisco State University and the UC Riverside Spring Classic.
