MINNEAPOLIS – The Carleton College women's track & field team saw action in two time zones on Saturday. The majority of the Knights competing were at the Gopher Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota, while Hannah Preisser raced the 3000-meter distance at the Camel City Distance meet in Winston-Salem, N.C.
 
Preisser finished eighth in the seeded 3K race with a season-best time of 10:00.83. The 12-runner field included nine NCAA Division I runners, a D-II racer, and the event champion from Montreat, a NAIA program.
 
Meanwhile, at the U of Minnesota, Pamina Nemet jumped to No. 3 on Carleton's all-time top-10 list after clocking a time of 1:38.52 in the 600-meter run. Terri Mensah is now tied for sixth in school history after finishing the 60-meter dash in 8.15.
 
Both Claire Vukovics and Lauren Tittel just missed breaking into the top-10 list for the mile as they were less than a half-second away after finishing second and third, respectively, with new PRs of 5:05.83 and 5:05.86. Nicole Peterson also set a personal best with her time of 5:19.26.
 
Other Knights establishing new personal bests include:
• Maddy Reckmeyer posting a six-second PR in the mile (5:25.22).
• Caroline Kelleher (10.18) in the 60-meter hurdles.
• Claire Miyoshi (29.62) in the 200-meter dash.
 
"We asked these athletes to do challenging doubles in this meet, and we are proud of how well they performed," said Carleton head coach Donna Ricks.
 
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton will host the Meet of the Hearts on Saturday, Feb. 24. Competition is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m.
