MINNEAPOLIS – The Carleton College women's swimming & diving team concluded its time at the two-day First Chance Meet hosted by the University of Minnesota. This unscored competition served as the final competition of the season for the 14 members of the roster that are not expected to compete at next week's MIAC Championships.
Of the Knights' 24 individual swims on Saturday, 10 collegiate bests were established with nine additional season-best performances.
Aviva Sachs started the Knights off with a 10-second season best in the 400-yard IM, touching the wall at 5:13.29.
Natalie Weissman added a collegiate-best of 5:22.69, while
Susannah Kalb had a season-best finish at 5:39.69.
Eleanor Hebard led seven Knights in the 100-yard freestyle with her season-best time of 55.92
Ava Roh (56.28) and
Rose Combs (59.37) registered personal bests, while
Alison Trackman (59.47) and
Carmen Li (1:00.45) had season-best swims.
Elizabeth Mayor posted a nearly six-second collegiate best in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing at 2:14.23. Roh followed with another new PR, this time in the 100-yard butterfly where she reached the wall at 1:03.07.
Hebard (2:02.64) had a nearly six-second season best in the 200-yard freestyle, while Roh (2:08.30), Mayor (2:09.79), and Li (2:15.41) turned in lifetime bests. Trackman add another season best, this time covering the distance in 2:09.61
Sachs crushed her season best in the 200-yard breaststroke by 21 seconds with a time of 2:46.30
The 1650-yard freestyle saw Weissman (collegiate-best 19:48.01), Kalb (21:09.63), and Li (collegiate-best 21:44.55) all smashed their season bests in the event.
Mayor, Roh, Combs, and Hoffman combined on a time of 3:53.30 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
While the swimmers were competing in the Twin Cities,
Nina Schwab took part in the Dodd Road Diving Invite back at Thorpe Pool. She cruised to victory in 3-meter six-dive competition with a score of 304.00

Carleton will compete at the MIAC Championships to be held Feb. 11-14 at the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
