INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
This past summer, I contributed to a pilot study with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the James J. Howard laboratory in Sandy Hook, NJ. I worked with my mentors to test the condition of river herring fish through lipid analysis. Eventually, the results of this study will provide information about the effectiveness of mitigation efforts such as dam removal in NJ, NY, and ME in restoring the historically low herring populations among other wildlife.
