NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Four members of the Carleton College women's swimming & diving program took home Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing performance in the pool and the classroom. Senior Stephanie Baranov and junior Hailey Westrup were recognized for the second straight year, while junior Emma Yao and sophomore Nina Schwab earned the award for the first time.
 
Schools could nominate up to four student-athletes that had at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average, were at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and either competed in 75 percent of the team's competitions OR finished in the top-eight at a conference championship meet OR participate in a national championship.
 
Baranov, a history and political science/international relations double major, took home All-Conference recognition four times at the 2026 MIAC Championships. She was part of the Knights' All-MIAC contingent in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3rd place), then added All-MIAC Honorable swims in the 400-yard IM (4th place), 1650-yard freestyle (4th place), and 500-yard freestyle (5th place) to give her nine career all-conference awards.
 
Westrup, a chemistry major, qualified for the NCAA Diving Regional for the third consecutive year and was the first alternate for the NCAA Championships. She was the MIAC runner-up on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards after sharing the 2025 MIAC Diver of the Year award. Westrup took home the MIAC's Elite 22 Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average (GPA) in each sport who meets similarly high, sport-specific athletic requirements.
 
Yao, a computer science major, was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2026 MIAC Championships. She also earned All-MIAC status as part of Carleton's second-place entries in the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard medley relay in addition to a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke to collect All-MIAC Honorable Mention. She now has nine career All-Conference Awards.
 
Schwab, a chemistry major, was selected as the 2026 Division III Women's Diver of the Year after she was the NCAA Champion for 1-meter diving and was the national runner-up in 3-meter diving. That gives her four career First Team All-America awards. She picked up her second straight MIAC Diver of the Year honor after winning both boards at the 2026 MIAC Championships.
 
Westrup and Schwab are among 91 student-athletes selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this month.
