NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College women's track & field team is in fourth place after Day 2 of the MIAC Indoor Championships.
Friday's action began with the field events.
Terri Mensah placed 12th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.44 meters.
Ava Brosam was ninth in the pole vault after clearing a collegiate-best 3.08 meters, while
Sophie Syverson took 14th place with a height of 2.93 meters.
Mensah got the track events started by taking 15th in the 55-meter dash with a new PR of 7.49.
Carleton had three racers collect all-conference recognition in the mile run.
Lauren Tittel took second place with a new personal-best time of 5:02.81 and earned All-MIAC status.
Claire Vukovics and
Amelia Campbell received All-Conference Honorable Mention as the duo finished fourth and fifth with Vukovics holding off Campbell at the line 5:13.34 vs. 5:13.37.
Nina Peterson placed 10th overall with a new PR time of 5:16.83, while
Sierra Cheniavsky was 18th and
Anna Blaich took 23rd at 5:32.03 and 5:39.61, respectively, as both set collegiate bests in the event.
Pamina Nemet and
Charlotte Kusch both set PRs as they earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention in the 800-meter run. Nemet took fourth at 2:17.29, while Kusch won her heat in 2:21.45 to finish sixth overall.
Hananh Preisser was the runner up in the 5000-meter run, finishing at a season-best 17:14.38, which was faster than the previous facility record.
Aliya Larsen crossed the line in fourth (18:02.96) to secure All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Carleton's 4x200-meter relay finished at 1:51.74 to place 10th. The Knights' distance medley relay was fourth overall at 12:34.57.
