Box Score ROCHESTER, Minn. – The No. 34-ranked Carleton College women's tennis team remained undefeated after notching a 7-0 victory over Winona State University, a NCAA Division II program.
Carleton (7-0) swept the doubles matches for the day's first team point.
Giana Marks and
Ryann Witter secured a 6-0 victory over Winona State's (3-3) top tandem.
Algara Dineva and
Varinn Sood followed with a 6-1 triumph at the third slot, while
Gabriela Cilella and
Kat Smiricinschi added a 7-5 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
Upon moving to singles, Dineva kept the momentum in Carleton's column with a decisive 6-0, 6-1 victory at the fifth slot.
Peggy Fu followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles, and Sood clinched the team victory with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at the sixth spot.
Kiley Pickens improved to 7-0 on the year with her 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Witter prevailed in a close No. 3 singles match by a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 tally.
Marks closed the competition by rallying from a set down to topple Lainy Ristau by a 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (10-3) score at No. 1 singles.
Saturday's results improved Carleton's season ledger to 41-1 in singles action and 21-0 in doubles.
