NORTHFIELD, Minn. – In its final tune-up for next week's conference championships, the Carleton College men's track & field team headed to the Tostrud Classic hosted by St. Olaf College and posted nine personal bests and 10 top-5 results.
Dashiell Coyier established a new PR as the runner-up in the mile, crossing the line at 4:22.53 as he was edged at the finish line by only 0.01 second.
Simon Chambers-Trubatch took seventh in a personal-best 4:31.41.
Asher Nathan crossed the line fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.45, while J
ames Alexander and
Tommy Applebaum set personal bests in the 600-meter run, finishing fourth and eighth, respectively, at 1:25:30 and 1:28.42.
Jacob Hopkins and
Ronen Silberman both set personal records in the 800-meter race, crossing the line at 1:59.65 and 2:01.05, respectively, to place second and fourth overall.
Gabe Nichols clocked a season-best time of 2:32.03 as the runner-up in the 1000-meter event.
Emmerson Lange and
Kyle Thompson set personal bests as they crossed the line at 2:35.47 and 2:42.94, respectively, as they finished sixth and 12th.
Martin Moshfeghi finished fifth in the 3000-meter run as he posted a personal-best time of 8:58.68.
Jackson Reade notched Carleton's fourth runner-up result as he cleared 1.80 meters in the high jump.
Lucas Heldman placed fifth with a season-best mark of 1.75 meters.
Kaster finished in a tie for third place in the pole vault after clearing 4.21 meters on his first attempt.
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton hosts the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 26-28. Competition begins with the heptathlon on Thursday, Feb. 26 and continues the next morning. The remainder of the meet gets underway on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and concludes on Saturday with an 11:45 a.m. start for field events and a 1:00 p.m. start on the track.
