ST. PAUL, Minn. – On the strength of a dozen top-10 results, the Carleton College men's track & field team was sixth at the 12-team Vanessa Seljeskog Classic hosted by Macalester College.
Gabe Nichols won the mile run, breaking his own meet record. This year, he crossed the line at 4:17.25, which is fastest in the MIAC this year.
Indy Lyness and
Roy Llewellyn also had top-10 finishes, the former covered the distance in 4:29.50, while the latter did so at 4:29.66.
In the 1000-meter run,
Dashiell Coyier finished second overall with a time of 2:35.49 while
Emerson Lange secured fourth place in 2:36.30. Both Knights registered PRs in the event.
Daniel Scheider took fourth place (51.66) in the 400-meter dash, while
Asher Nathan was 10th at 52.22.
Samuel Reiter (2:03.32) was eighth in the 800-meter run in his opening race of the year, while
Ronen Silberman took ninth at 2:04.13.
The 3000-meter run saw
Gus Schafer break into the top 10, finishing eighth with a time of 9:13.98.
Soren Kaster contributed a pair of top-10 finishes in the field events, tying for third in pole vault and taking eighth in the high jump after clearing heights of 4.05 meters and 1.65 meters, respectively.
