Aliya Larsen and Sophie McManus named to USTFCCCA All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS — Two members of the Carleton College women's track & field program earned All-Region recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season for outdoor track & field. Junior Aliya Larsen and senior Sophie McManus were recognized by the organization as a top-five performer in the North Region
 
Larsen ranked fifth in the region for the 10,000-meter run after clocking a time of 36:20.94 at the Drake Relays. McManus was third in the region with her time of 10:45.19 while winning the 3000-meter steeplechase at the MIAC Championships.
 
Larsen made her debut on the track & field All-Region list, while this is the second consecutive season for which McManus was honored for the steeplechase. Larsen previously earned USTFCCCA All-Region accolades for cross country (top 35) for 2023 and 2024, while McManus collected All-Region recognition each of the last three cross country seasons in addition for the indoor 5,000-meter run in 2024.
 
McManus will compete in the steeplechase at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This year's national meet is being held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The prelims will start at 7:35 p.m. EDT/6:35 p.m. CDT on Thursday, May 22 with 12 runners (the top 4 from each of the two heats plus the next 4 fastest times) advancing to the finals on Friday, May 23 at 4:55 p.m. EDT/3:55 p.m. CDT
