Reese Anderson both earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention after they finished fourth and fifth, respectively, at the MIAC Decathlon.
Kaster totaled 6,121 points over the two-day competition, while Anderson amassed 5,993 points despite an ankle injury sustained in the second of the ten events. Max Lelwica of Saint John's (6,905 points) topped the 14-athlete field this year. He was the runner up a year ago.
Day 2 began with the 110-meter hurdles, and Kaster clocked a time of 16.32 while Anderson finished in 18.22.
Both Knights posted PRs in the discus. Kaster better his previous standard by more than 6.5 feet as he measured 31.71 meters. Meanwhile, Anderson smashed his career best by nearly 29 feet with a distance of 35.64 meters.
Kaster cleared 4.20 meters in the pole vault, tied for the top height in the field. Reese tied for fourth after clearing the bar set at 4.00 meters
The javelin throw resulted in career best for both Knights. Anderson had the top distance in the event at 53.37 meters, while Kaster's top heave sailed 50.17 meters, good for third in the event and a PR by 10 feet.
The competition concluded with the 1500-meter run. Despite the injury, Anderson finished fifth in the event with a time of 4:52.22, while Kaster clocked a time of 5:02.45.
Kaster's fourth place overall finish earned the Knights five teams points for the upcoming MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Anderson contributed four points to the Carleton total.
