Knights win three events at Hamline Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College men's track & field team won three events — the 1500-meter run, the pole vault, and the 4x400-meter relay — as the Knights partook in their first full-squad meet of the outdoor season. In total, Carleton posted 17 total top-10 results.

Gabe Nichols and Roy Llewelln placed 1-2 in the 1500-meter run, an event with 67 entrants spread across five heats. Nichols crossed the line at 3:59.02, while Llewellyn finished in 4:09.54. Teammate Indy Lyness took seventh place with a time of 4:15.33.

The Knights saw another 1-2 finish in the pole vault. Soren Kaster and James Gates both cleared 4.20 meters, with the former needing one less attempt to win on the tiebreaker. Tim Adams was ninth at 3.45 meters.

Carleton won the 4x400-meter relay as James Alexander, Josh Meier, Asher Nathan, and Daniel Scheider combined on a time of 3:29.30

The Knights' 4x100-meter relay placed fourth overall as Max Jones, Nathan, Ethan Cline-Cole, and Theo Demetriades posted a combined time of 43.70.

Meier, Schieder, and Nichols each turned in a top-10 result in the 800-meter run. Meier covered the distance in 1:57.11 and placed fifth out of 48 runners, Scheider took seventh at 1:58.13, while Nichols was 10th at 1:59.17.

Kaster placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.94.

Nathan finished 10th in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line at 22.48.

Torte Torstenson clocked a time of 10:30.16 in his first collegiate 3000-meter steeplechase. That was good for ninth overall in a field that saw 4-of the top-6 finishers come from the University of Minnesota (NCAA Division I).

Travis Brown finished eighth in the 5000-meter run, clocking a personal-best time of 15:45.62.

Cline-Cole finished seventh in the triple jump after measuring 12.20 meters on his final attempt of the preliminary round.
