Torte Torstenson won the steeplechase and
Reese Anderson took first in the javelin to highlight 19 total top-10 results for Carleton College men's track & field on Day 2 of the Janis Rider-Doug Bolstorff Invitational.
The Knights finished third in the team standings at the 14-team meet hosted by Macalester College.
Torstenson smashed his previous best in the steeplechase by nearly 42 seconds as he crossed the finish line at 9:48.32, and Anderson similarly eclipsed his PR in the javelin by more than 27 feet as he measured 52.80 meters on his final attempt.
Anderson had two other top-10 results. He was the runner up in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a season-best time of 57.73 and finished 10th in the long jump at 6.02 meters.
A trio of Knights were in the top-10 for the 400-meter dash, which totaled 39 entrants across six heats.
Asher Nathan finished third with a PR of 50.96, one spot ahead of
Josh Meier (51.07).
James Alexander took eighth at 51.38.
Simon Chambers-Trubatch took fourth place in the 1500-meter run, covering the distance in a season-best 4:15.42.
Ronen Silberman placed fifth with a new PR of 4:17.48.
Ethan Cline-Cole finished fourth in the triple jump on after measuring a season-best 12.78 meters on his final attempt.
Tim Adams turned in his best pole vault performance of the season, taking 10th after clearing 3.80 meters.
Soren Kaster and
James Gates both cleared 4.25 meters, with the former taking fourth via a tiebreaker.
Max Jones finished fourth in the long jump as he measured a new personal best of 6.47 meters on his first attempt. Kaster finished ninth in the event with a distance of 6.03 meters.
Other top-10 results for the Knights included:
• Nathan taking sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.66.

Lucas Heldman placing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:03.12.

Dash Schwab was sixth after measuring 41.58 meters in the javelin
•
Sam Reiter finished 10th in the 800-meter run with a PR of 2:01.42
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton will participate in multiple competitions over the next seven days, including Kaster and Anderson taking part in the MIAC Decathlon to be held at Carleton on May 1-2.
