ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The Carleton College women's track & field program had competitors at two meets this weekend. The bulk of the roster participated in the 19-team Bethel Invitational on Saturday, while
Sophie McManus raced the 5,000-meter distance at the UW-Plattevile Invitational late on Friday evening
McManus placed 13th of 134 runners spread across five heats of the 5K. She posted an outdoor PR time of 17:15.17.
"Sophie did a tremendous job racing," said Carleton head coach
Donna Ricks. "What a fun, big meet environment. This performance demonstrates her fitness and mental toughness."
During a full day of action at the Bethel Invitational, the Knights turned in four top-10 results and posted 11 personal bests despite very windy conditions.

Libby Rowland finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:26.33.

Alice Islam continued her strong rookie season by placing fifth in the high jump with an outdoor season-best 1.50 meters.

Lara Erickson took fifth in the 800-meter run with a PR of 2:15.58.
Aliya Larsen,
Nora Daley, and
Madeleine Reckmeyer posted times of 2:26.81, 2:28.62, and 2:28.66 (personal best), respectively.
• In the 1500-meter run, Larsen finished ninth at 4:49.86, while Daley and Reckmeyer set new PRs of 4:59.91 and 5:08.05, respectively.
• Islam and
Claire Miyoshi established new collegiate bests in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line at 13.16 and 14.27, respectively. Islam also PR'd in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.50.

Stephanie Baranov established another personal best in the 400-meter dash with her time of 1:02.94.

Parker Collins set a new personal record with a leap of 9.55 meters in the triple jump, good for 14th place. Miyoshi was right behind in 15th at 9.51 meters.
• Miyoshi and
Parker Collins both PR'd in the long jump on their final attempts of the day. The former soared 5.01 meters, on her final attempt, while the latter measured 4.50 meters.
Up Next for the Knights
This week, Carleton will likely compete in the 10,000-meter run at the Phil Esten Challenge hosted by UW-La Crosse in addition to hosting the Carleton Relays on Saturday, April 19.
