Hannah Preisser wins again as Knights take sixth at MIAC Indoor Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – On the final day of competition of the MIAC Indoor Championships, Hannah Preisser won her second individual title to help the Carleton College women's track & field team finish sixth in the team competition.
 
Bethel University captured the team title with 140.25 points, followed by St. Olaf (107.25), Concordia-Moorhead (103), Gustavus Adolphus (95.5), Saint Benedict (94.25), and Carleton (78.25) at the 12-team meet.
 
After winning the 5K race last night, Preisser was first across the line in the 3000-meter run with a personal-best time of 9:54.60 to move into fifth place on Carleton's all-time list. Sophie McManus also earned All-MIAC status as she finished third in the field of 28 racers, clocking a season-best time of 9:59.92. Aliya Larsen earned all-conference honorable mention thanks to her fourth-place showing as she covered the distance in 10:02.86. Libby Rowland was the fourth Knight to score points in the team competition, finishing seventh with a time of 10:33.35.
 
Carleton started the day by finishing eighth in the 4x200-meter relay. Charlotte Kusch, Hadley Twichell, Bianca Lott, and Alice Islam combined on a time of 1:47.83.
 
Lara Erickson was the runner up in the 1000-meter run, posting a new PR of 3:01.40. Celia Silverstein and Kayla Marx finished 12th and 13th, respectively, with times of 3:07.20 and 3:08.13. Madeleine Reckmeyer placed 17th and established a new personal best with a time of 3:09.76.
 
Lott placed 10th in the 200-meter dash, setting her second new PR during the championships, this time crossing the line at 26.95.
 
In the field events, Islam tied for eighth in the high jump after clearing 1.46 meters. Parker Collins and Claire Miyoshi finished 15th and 17th, respectively, in the triple jump after measuring 9.49 meters and 9.10 meters.
 
The Knights concluded the conference meet with All-MIAC honorable mention after finishing sixth in the 4x400-meter relay. Erickson, Twichell, Silverstein, and Kusch combined on a time of 4:11.68.
