NORTHFIELD, Minn. –
Asher Nathan won the 400-meter dash at the Tostrud Classic hosted by St. Olaf College. Nine schools participated in the meet, which serves as the final tune-up before next week's MIAC Championships.
The Knights turned in 11 top-5 results.
Nathan and
James Alexander finished 1-2 in the 400-meter race, crossing the line at 52.66 and 53.09, respectively.
Max Jones took fifth place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.32, one-hundreth of a second off his personal best.
The 800-meter run saw
Daniel Scheider take third place after covering the distance in a personal-best 1:58.01.
Travis Brown (9:02.96),
Ryan Bernstein (9:03.77),
Nathaniel Malchow (9:06.63), and
Andrew Jamison (9:09.60) all established new personal records as they finished in second through fifth, respectively, in the 3000-meter run.
Ethan Cline-Cole measured 12.36 meters on his final attempt to earn fifth place in the triple jump.
James Gates and
Soren Kaster both cleared 4.45 meters in the pole vault, with the former taking the tiebreaker to claim second place while the latter settled for the bronze. Gates established a new PR as he moved into the No. 4 spot in team history, right behind Kaster, who cleared 4.50 meters in late January.
Up Next for the Knights
The MIAC Indoor Championships will be held Feb. 27-March 1 at the McNeeley Spectrum at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn. The conference meet begins with the heptathlon, which will be contested Feb. 27-28.
