Ben Pennell and Briggs Priem named to All-MIAC Team

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Carleton College seniors Ben Pennell and Briggs Priem were both voted to the All-MIAC Men's Soccer First Team by the coaches in the conference.

This is the third consecutive year that both Knights received some level of all-conference distinction, making them the 11th and 12th players in program history with three or more seasons of All-MIAC recognition (see chart below).

Pennell—who was an All-MIAC First Team pick in 2023 and All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2024—led the Knights with 12 goals and 26 points in only 13 games. He missed most of five contests due to injury. Prior to being sidelined, Pennell paced MIAC players with 12 goals and 2.17 points per game. He had four game-winning goals and had the game-tying score in a 1-1 draw at NCAA Tournament bound Gustavus Adolphus. Pennell finished his Carleton career with 35 goals (tied for second in program history), 15 assists, and 85 points (third in team annals) in only 59 games. He had 11 career game-winning goals.

Priem earned his second consecutive All-MIAC First Team nod after receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2023. Playing in the midfield, he was fourth on the Knights with three goals this season and tied for third with two assists. Priem totaled 17 goals—including five game winners—and 16 assists over his time with the Knights.

Carleton was 9-5-3 overall, including a 3-4-3 ledger in league games. The Knights saw their conference record of 17 consecutive trips to the MIAC Playoffs snapped as the league saw four squads qualify for the NCAA Championships this fall.
