BLOOMINGTON, Minn. –
Gordon Walker took second place at the 54-hole Twin Cities Classic that concluded on Monday at Minnesota Valley Country Club. The Carleton College men's golf team finished fourth out of sixteen teams.
Gustavus Adolphus College, the host team, won the tournament with a team score of 882 (+30, 293+293+296). Bethel University finished in second place at 897 (+45), followed by Saint John's University at 904 (+52). The Knights moved into fourth place just behind the Johnnies at 905 (+53, 301+305+299), and one stroke ahead of the fifth-place team, Nebraska Wesleyan University at 906 (+54, 300+306+300). The next three teams, Concordia College (MN), Lake Forest College, and College of St. Scholastica, finished at 907, 908, and 910, respectively. The third through tenth place teams were separated by seven shots.
Walker's runner-up finish was the senior's highest finish of his collegiate career. He finished the day at one-over-par, in a round that included four birdies, bringing his three-round total to a four-over-par 217 (72+71+74).
Junior
Sam Higaki shot a five-over-par 78 in his final round and tied for seventh place overall among the field of 84 golfers. His total score was ten-over-par 223 (71+74+78).
Junior
Justin Rodriguez and first-year
Oscar Peche finished among a group tied for 22nd place. Rodriguez carded an even-par 73 on the day for a total of 229 (+16, 77+79+73). Peche, who competed as an individual, shot a four-over-par 77 on the final day (+16, 78+74+77=229).
Sophomore
Dillon Croco moved up the leaderboard and tied for 55th place after his best round of the tournament at three-over par. His 54-hole total was 238 (+25, 81+81+76).
First-year
Austin Mak also carded a 76 on day three and finished the tournament at 239 (+26, 81+82+86) and tied for 58th place. Sophomore
Gareth Birney, competing as an individual entrant, had a round of 81 and finished with the same final score as teammate Mak. Birney's round totals were 79+79+81.
Carleton's scoring on Day 3 included rounds from Rodriguez, Walker, Croco, and Mak.

Carleton will travel to Florida and compete Oct. 12-14 in the Golfweek Fall Invitational held at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, FL.
