MIRAMAR BEACH, Florida – The Carleton College men's golf team finished in a tie for 14th place out of 24 teams at the Golfweek Fall Invitational. The 54-hole tournament was held at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida.
The Knights lowered their score each round of the tournament, finishing with a team score of 882 (+30, 298-293-291). The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor won the tournament with a team score of five-under-par 847 (-5, 291-283-273). Wittenberg University moved into second place with a final round of 273 and completed the tournament at one-under-par 851 (-1, 286-292-273). at 574 (+6). Transylvania University was the third-place team at 860 (+8, 289-289-282).
Junior
Justin Rodriguez had three birdies on Tuesday and posted a three-over-par 73 on the day. He totaled 216 shots (+3) over the tournament and finished in a tie for 19th place (70-72-74).
Junior
Sam Higaki also played his final round at three-over-par with three birdies. He tied for 44th place in the field of 120 golfers with a 54-hole score of 221 (+8, 75-72-74).
Gordon Walker had four birdies in his final round of even-par 71, his lowest score of the tournament. The senior tied for 71st place at 225 (+12, 81-73-71).
First-year
Austin Mak also carded his best round of the tournament with a one-over-par 72 on Tuesday and four birdies on the day. He finished tied for 77th place with a total of 226 (+13, 78-76-72).
Sophomore
Dillon Croco rounded out the scoring for the Knights with a three-over-par 74 on the last day. This brought his total to 231 (+18, 75-82-74) for the tournament.
