Knights win five times on Day 2 of St. Olaf Invitational

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College women's track & field team won five more events on the final day of the St. Olaf Invitational. Aliya Larsen was first across the line in the mile, Lara Erickson prevailed in the 800-meter run, Cynthia Niaz won the 3,000-meter run, Claire Miyoshi took first in the triple jump, and the Knights won the 4x200-meter relay.
 
The 14-team meet was unscored.
 
Larsen and Libby Rowland finished 1-2 in the mile run, the former crossed the line at 5:12.36, while the latter did so at 5:15.3. Nora Daley was fourth in the event with a time of 5:24.09.
 
Carleton's entry in the 4x200-meter relay was victorious as Bianca Lott, Hadley Twichell, Alice Islam, and Charlotte Kusch combined on a time of 1:50.44, good for a nearly 19-second margin of victory.
 
Erickson won the 800-meter run by more than 4.5 seconds, crossing the line at 2:21.95. Madeleine Reckmeyer finished fifth in her at 2:33.09.
 
Niaz picked up the win in her 3,000-meter debut, completing the 15 laps in 11:43.17. Celia Lehmann Duke placed sixth with a new personal record of 12:40.75.
 
Miyoshi and Parker Collins made their collegiate debuts in the triple jump and finished 1-2 after measuring 9.38 meters and 9.36 meters, respectively.
 
Twichell, Lott, and Kusch all qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash, where they finished fourth, fifth, and seventh at 8.32, 8.36, and 8.42 (a new PR), respectively.
 
Kusch finished third in the 200-meter dash, winning her heat with a personal-best time of 27.06. Lott also won her heat, placing seventh overall at 27.81.
 
Kayla Marx placed third in her first collegiate 1,000-meter run, covering the distance in 3:05.82. Ella Coffin made her debut and finished 10th at 3:26.63.
 
Elsewhere in the field events, Islam took third in the high jump after clearing a personal-best 1.50 meters. Miyoshi was eighth in her first collegiate long jump after measuring 4.21 meters on her final attempt.
