NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College men's track & field team won two more events on the final day of competition at the St. Olaf Invitational.
Gabe Nichols currently ranks No. 8 in the nation after winning the mile run by more than three seconds, crossing the line at 4:14.15, while
Nathaniel Malchow prevailed in the 3,000-meter run after clocking a personal-best time of 9:28.41.
The 10-team meet was unscored.
Daniel Scheider placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 1:59.82.
Josh Meier finished second in the 1,000-meter run after covering the distance in 2:33.70 to establish a new PR.
Emerson Lange took seventh in the same event with a time of 2:39.70.
Carleton's entry in the 4x400-meter relay placed sixth as
Soren Kaster, Meier,
James Alexander, and
Daniel Scheider combined on a time of 3:33.77.
Reece Anderson finished his first collegiate heptathlon in third place with 3,925 points. He entered Saturday in fifth place, but clocked 9.58 in the 60-meter hurdles, cleared 3.40 meters in the pole vault, and completed the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:56.62.
Elsewhere in the field events,
Lucas Heldman tied for third place in the high jump after matching his season best by clearing 1.80 meters and
Ethan Cline-Cole took fifth in the triple jump after measuring 12.27 meters.
