FARIBAULT, Minn. – The No. 16-ranked Carleton College women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the 2024-25 season with a third-place finish out of six squads at the D3 Central Region Preview.
Cynthia Lu paced the way for the Knights, taking sixth overall with a 36-hole score of 151 (+7, 73-78).
Lu struggled out of the gate on Sunday but caught fire on the back nine. She birdied holes No. 10, 12, and 14 and played the final nine holes at -3.
Mindy Zhai (+14, 78-80=158) collected two more birdies on Sunday to finish in 14th place overall.
Newcomer
Anna Lee followed up her opening-round 80 with a 79 on Sunday to conclude the tournament in a tie for 15th place at 159. She played as an individual entrant and did not factor in the team score.
Sarah Zheng (+16, 81-79=160) tied for 18th place, one stroke and one place in front of teammate
Natalie Tatar (+17, 81-80=161).
Olivia Siebert (+19, 83-80=163) had two birdies on the back nine on Sunday and tied for 24th place in the 39-player field.
Carleton, which played without All-American
Carter Sichol, had a team score of 630 (313-317). No. 9-ranked St. Catherine University won the event with a score of 593. Macalester College finished second at 610.

Carleton will play at the St. Catherine Fall Invite on Sept. 14-15 at Braemar Golf Course in Edina, Minn.
