BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Carleton College senior Cynthia Lu notched her first career victory, capturing medalist honors at the Northfield Open on April 25-26. That performance earned her recognition as the MIAC Women's Golfer of the Week, her first career conference weekly honor.
 
Lu propelled No. 16/18 Carleton to the team win at the seven-team tournament. She carded an opening round 73 with a 75 in the final round to finish at 148 (+4). Lu finished Saturday's round in style with birdies on the 16th and 17th holes before concluding the day with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole. She added four more birdies on Sunday and tallied eight birdies overall during the tournament, most in the 44-player field.
