HASTINGS, Minn. – The No. 16-ranked Carleton College women's golf team holds a two-stroke lead after the first day of play at the D3 Classic.
All-American
Carter Sichol returned to the Knights' lineup and is tied for the lead after the first 18 holes with teammate
Cynthia Lu at 1-over par. The latter
Anna Lee, playing as an individual, is tied for third place after carding an opening-round 74 (+2).
After posting a Saturday score of 78 (+6),
Mindy Zhai is locked in a seven-way tie for 12
th place in the 76-payer field.
Sarah Zheng (79, +7) was the Knights other scorer during the opening round.
Carleton posted a team score of 303, two less than Bethel University, with Macalester College (311) and Wartburg College (316) sitting third and fourth, respectively, in the 12-team field.
