BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Two members of the Carleton Men's Golf team were honored when the MIAC golf coaches announced their end of season awards for the 2023-24 season. Junior Ryan Choi followed up his all-conference honorable mention from last year by earning All-MIAC recognition for 2023-24, and first-year Sam Higaki joined him on the All-MIAC squad in addition to earning the MIAC Men's Golf Rookie of the Year award.
 
Higaki is the first Knight to win the MIAC Men's Golf Rookie of the Year award and did so while turning in the sixth-best scoring average in the MIAC, a team-best 73.6. His round of 65 at the Augsburg Spring Invitational was the second-best 18-hole score across the MIAC this season. Higaki led the Knights with 10 rounds at or below par, leading to seven top-10 finishes, including four top-5 results, and back-to-back victories at the Augsburg Spring Invitational and the Luther Spring Classic.
 
Choi was second on the Knights with an average score of 74.0, a mark good for 10th in the conference. He missed the fall portion of the schedule while engaging in an off-campus study program but still improved 2.5 strokes per round from his score of 76.5 last season. He had four rounds at par or better during the five events that he played and finished in the top-10 three times, earning a spot in the top-5 twice.
