MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Seven members of the Carleton College men's swimming & diving team raced at the First Chance Meet hosted by the University of Minnesota. This unscored competition serves as the final competition of the season for members of the roster that are not expected to compete at next week's MIAC Championships.
The Carleton entry in the 400-yard medley relay easily won the event as
Will Tan,
Christopher Maring,
Charlie Ruppe, and
Max Serota combined on a time of 3:52.42.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Maring bested his seed time and placed ninth with a time of 1:02.94.
Juniors
Aidan Jalili and Serota finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 500-yard freestyle. The former touched the wall at 5:07.56, while the latter's 5:14.35 broke his season top time by more than 14 seconds.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Ruppe and Jalili both placed in the top 10, coming in seventh and ninth with times of 22.52 and 22.79, respectively.
Theo Hill (23.13) and Tan (24.02) joined their teammates in notching season bests, while
Rhys Wonacott (24.10) and Maring (24.35) also raced in the event.

Carleton will return to the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center for sessions two (11:00 a.m.) and three (5:00 p.m.) on Saturday, February 10.
