MANKATO, Minn. – The Carleton College men's track & field program sent seven athletes to compete at the Maverick Invitational. That group posted six top-4 finishes including a victory in the 1000-meter run for
Indy Lyness.
Despite only a partial-team contingent, Carleton still managed to finish fourth out of the 10 teams competing.
Soren Kaster won his heat and registered a season-best of 1:25.33 to finish third out of 16 racers in the 600-meter run.
Ethan Ash was the runner-up in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 1:57.99
With Lyness leading the way, Carleton finished 1-2-3-4 in the 1000-meter run. Lyness posted the No. 15 time (season-best 2:33.55) in NCAA Division III this season, while
Gabe Nichols came in a close second with at 2:34.18 to rank No. 24 in D-III this year.
Roy Llewellyn set his season's best at 2:35.27, finishing third, with
Emerson Lange setting a new personal record while placing fourth with a time of 2:37.59.
Tim Adams notched a season best after clearing 3.71 meters (12' 2") while placing 14th in the pole vault.

Carleton will compete at the Tostrud Classic, hosted by nearby St. Olaf College on Saturday, Feb. 17. Field events begin at 10:00 a.m., with racing starting at 11:00 a.m.
