NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College men's track & field program hosted the eight-team Meet of the Hearts on Saturday. The Knights registered a dozen top-five results, including victories in the mile run, pole vault, and high jump.
Carleton captured its first event of the day as
Roy Llewellyn notched a personal best in the mile run, crossing the line 4:16.11.
Emerson Lange as posted a PR of his own, coming in fifth place with a time of 4:30.84.
Soren Kaster (8.43) took third and
Theo Demetriades (8.82) placed fifth in the 55-meter hurdles. Both Knights registered collegiate bests.
Shifting to the 1000-meter run
, Indy Lyness put on a solid performance coming in second place with a time of 2:36.08.
Simon Chambers-Trubatch won his heat and set a big personal-best of 2:41.44, good for sixth place overall.
In the 200-meter dash,
Asher Nathan came in second place with a time of 23.26. Demetriades placed third at 23.76. Both Knights established new collegiate bests.
Gabe Nichols took third in the 3000-meter run, completing the event with a time of 8:38.85.
Ethan Cline-Cole cleared 1.68 meters on his first try to win the high jump. He set a PR with a 12.51-meter measurement in the triple jump, good for second place.
Kaster cleared the bar at 3.98 meters (13 feet, 0.75 inches) to take the top spot in the pole vault.
Tim Adams placed fourth at 3.40 meters.
A trio of Knights participated in the shot put, all finishing next to each other in the standings.
Noah Morris came in ninth place with a top toss of 10.27 meters.
Liam Sullivan had a 10.16-meter throw, which was good for 10th place. Lastly, Demetriades' five event day included a distance of 8.85 meters that landed him 11th place.

Carleton heads to Mankato, MN to compete in the Maverick Invitational on February 16th.
