COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Carleton College men's swimming & diving team won five events during its dual meet at Saint John's University, but the Knights came up short with a final score of 156-144.
Carleton posted the top three finishers in the 100-yard backstroke.
Ethan Tun earned first place with a time of 54.79. He was followed by
Nicholas Chang (55.10) and
Ian Scott (55.96).
The Knights saw similar success in the 200-yard backstroke, with Chang winning the event with a time of 2:00.36 and Scott coming in second with a time of 2:02.44.
Tun also prevailed in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing first with a time of 2:13.76.
Jackson Rankin won both butterfly competitions, setting the pace in the 100-yard event with a time of 53.05. He prevailed in the 200-yard race with a time of 1:59.35.
Hans Anderson was second on both diving competitions, posting a score of 242.25 on the lower height and a score of 235.85 on the 3-meter board.
While Carleton won only 5 of the 16 events, the Knights' depth kept the team score close.

Carleton travels across town to compete against St. Olaf on Saturday, Jan. 27. The Senior Day meet will begin at 2:00 p.m.
