ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Carleton College men's track & field team is tied for sixth place following a busy day at the MIAC Outdoor Championships. The Knights saw All-MIAC performances from first-year
Gabe Nichols (Grove City, Penn./Grove City) and senior
Henry Bowman (Lafayette, Colo./Centaurus).
Nichols was the runner-up in the 1,500-meter run as he crossed the line at 3:55.45.
Roy Llewellyn (Fy./Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) received All-MIAC Honorable Mention after finishing fourth at 3:57.29.
Ethan Ash (Jr./Oakland, Calif./Head-Royce School) and
Josh Meier (So./Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) both qualified for the finals of the 800-meter run, posting times of 1:57.39 and 1:57.74, respectively. Soon after,
Reese Anderson (Fy./Frontenac, Minn./Lake City) qualified for Saturday's finals of the 400-meter hurdles as he posted a top-9 time (57.83) during the preliminary round. Last week, Anderson collected 5 310 points and finished eighth at the MIAC Decathlon, boosting Carleton's team point total.
Carleton's entry in the 4x800-meter relay finished in eighth place, adding to the team score.
Ryan Bernstein (Fy./Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield),
Ian Scott (Jr./Seattle, Wash./Garfield),
Ben Mazor (So./Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), and
Avery Watts (Sr./Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast) combined on a time of 8:29.67.
Bowman turned in an All-MIAC performance in the 10,000-meter run after posting a time of 31:23.52.
Aravindh Subramanian (Sr./Dayton, N.J./South Brunswick) added to Carleton's team score as he finished seventh in the high jump after clearing 1.81 meters.
