ST. PAUL, Minn. – Eight members of the Carleton College men's track & field team took part in the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational 5000-meter run on Thursday evening.
Gabe Nichols (Fy./Grove City, Penn./Grove City) and
Roy Llewellyn (Fy./Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) finished second and third, respectively, in the 44-runner field. The former clocked a time of 15:09.9, while the latter crossed the line less than a second later at 15:07.6.
Elijah Jones (Sr./Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and
Brett Hanley (So./Bellevue, Wash./Newport) both ran this distance for the first time in college and took sixth and 16th places, respectively with times of 15:28.6 and 15:52.0
Ben Aoki-Sherwood (Sr./Robbinsdale, Minn./Armstrong) covered the distance in 16:01.7, while
Andrew Jamison (Fy./Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) notched a personal-best time of 16:13.5.
Avery Watts (Sr./Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast) and
Ryan Bernstein (Fy./Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) rounded out the Carleton entries, finishing in 16:26.3 and 16:38.4, respectively.

On Saturday, April 29, Carleton will compete in the remaining portions of the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational. Field events start at 10:00 a.m. with racing on the track starting at 11:00 a.m.
