ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Carleton College men's track & field team won four events at the Bethel Invite, the first full-squad competition of the outdoor season.
Noah Eckersley-Ray (Sr./Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) grabbed the top spot in the javelin, winning by more than a meter with a facility-record heave of 46.19 meters.
Gabe Nichols (Fy./Grove City, Penn./Grove City) earned the Knights' first victory on the track, taking first in the 1500-meter run with his facility-record time of 3:57.78. The next three finishers in the event came from NCAA D-I programs.
Ethan Ash (Jr./Oakland, Calif./Head-Royce School) and
Josh Meier (So./Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) placed 1-2 in the 800-meter run with times of 1:55.31 and 1:56.28, respectively, the former setting a facility record and the latter clocking a new personal best.
Roy Llewellyn (Fy./Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) and
Henry Bowman (Sr./Lafayette, Colo./Centaurus) placed 1-2 in the 5000-meter run with personal-best times of 14:52.29 and 15:52.96, respectively. The winning time was the fourth facility record set by Carleton on the day.
The Knights had two other top-5 results:

Liam Kennedy (Jr./St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Central), Ash, Meier, and
Ian Scott (Jr./Seattle, Wash./Garfield) took fourth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:28.58.

Ethan Cline-Cole (So./Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Trinity School) was fourth in the triple jump at 12.00 meters.
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton will host the Carleton Relays on Saturday, April 22. Field events are set to begin at 10:00 a.m. with racing on the track starting at 11:00 a.m.
