Knights set PRs at Phil Esten Challenge 10K

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Carleton College men's track & field team sent a trio of racers to compete at the Phil Esten Challenge 10K on Thursday evening, and all three runners posted personal bests.
 
Stephen Lavey (Sr./Cedar Grove, Wis./Cedar Grove-Belgium) finished second out of 79 finishers in the event. His time of 29:42.58 was not only 1:43 better that his previous PR but also ranks him No. 2 all-time at Carleton. It is also eighth-fastest in NCAA Division III this season.
 
Henry Bowman (Jr./Lafayette, Colo./Centaurus) was seventh with his time of 30:44.36, which ranks No. 9 in program annals.
 
Adam Nakasaka (Sr./Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) also raced in the fastest heat, placing 17th overall with a time of 31:20.54.
 
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton hosts the Carleton Relays on Saturday, April 23. The first field event is slated to begin at 9:45 a.m.
