CHICO, Calif. – The Carleton College men's track & field program sent three team members to compete at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Chico State University. That trio came away with two event victories as Ethan Ash (So./Oakland, Calif./Head-Royce School) won the 800-meter run and Henry Bowman (Jr./Lafayette, Colo./Centaurus) earned the top spot in the steeplechase.
 
Ash and Alistair Pattison (So./St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) both won their heats of the 800-meter race, with Ash crossing the line in 1:54.16 and Pattison at 1:58.43 to place fifth overall. This was the first outdoor 800-meter race of Ash's career, and he currently ranks No. 3 in NCAA Division III this spring. Pattison was only 0.3 seconds off his career best established at last year's MIAC Championships.
 
Bowman prevailed in the steeplechase with a time of 9:47.41, which ranks No. 11 in NCAA Division III this season. That time is 29 seconds faster than he opened up in this event during the 2021 outdoor season and the second-fastest in his collegiate career.
 
Ash returned to the track for the 200-meter dash and finished fourth with a time of 23.92.
