WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Stephen Lavey (Sr./Cedar Grove, Wis./Cedar Grove-Belgium) finished 17th out of 20 racers in the 5000-meter run at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
 
He was the last qualifier for the 20-person field in the 5K and posted a time of 14:57.44 while racing the event for only the third time this season.
 
After dropping to the back of the pack midway through the race, Lavey was able to catch and pass three runners on the final lap. His final 200 meters was clocked at 31.508 seconds, the fifth fastest finish in the field and his fastest lap of the day.
